How Early Can I Extend A W30?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I arrived to thailand on tuesday morning. I would like to extend the w30 visa exemption in phuket before i head to koh lanta in a few days as i would have to make a trip to krabi immigration.

Can i extend the w30 immediately? Or is there a minimum wait required?

Immigration will usually only provide an extension during the last two weeks of your initial 30 day stay

Yes, most offices will only issue the extension within the last couple of weeks. You could try applying now, but expect the request to be declined. It won't cost you anything as they will only accept the application and take your money if issuing the extension.

Oh really? I thought the fee was non refundable. Would they just not accept the application in the first place?

It is non refundable, but if they won't take the money if they aren't going to issue the extension.
