October 20, 20169 yr At the begiinning of December I want to quit my job. I want to leave the country get a new B visa and then start a new job. How do I cancel my work permit?
October 20, 20169 yr You submit this form to the work permit office. http://wp.doe.go.th/wp/images/form/wp_cancellation.pdf If you already have a valid non-b visa issued by an embassy or consulate you do not need to get a new one. If you have an extension of stay done by immigration it needs to be canceled before you leave the country to get a non-b visa.
October 20, 20169 yr Author how do I cancel my "B" visa? Won't leaving the country do that? (it was issued in Vientiane for 3 months extended to one year at Thai immigration) Edited October 20, 20169 yr by Loeilad
October 20, 20169 yr You do not have a valid non-b visa to cancel. You would need to cancel your extension of stay. Leaving the country does cancel the extension but the correct way to it is to take a letter from your employer stating your last day of work to immigration a few days before that date and they will postdate the cancellation to that date. If leaving at some border crossings they will not allow your to leave without the letter from your employer.
October 20, 20169 yr you can just add the new employer to the current work permit and the new employer will do the extension the new employer need a document from the old employer no big deal to do and very quick
