blasteen
Hi, I'll be visiting BK towards the end of next month for two weeks. I am thinking of renting a one bed room apartment with a kitchen around Sukhumvit for the duration of my stay. I am looking online and there are places for 20-30 dollars a night. The pics look nice online, just want to know if these places look the same as their advertisements?. Would the prices of this places go up if I book later? and any recommendations ? blasteen
I would book a hotel for the two week duration but I need to cook for myself so need to have a kitchen. Are the apartments as bad as geriatrickid is mentioning them to be ?
tutsiwarrior
you could investigate 'serviced apartments' that usually have kitchen facilities...but they tend to be a bit pricy...I got a 2 bed once at Centrepoint for a few nights...
taiwangirl
I would think that it would be very difficult to find a one bedroom apartment for only two weeks at the prices you have indicated ($20-$30/night). Most places will want a longer stay, or if a short stay, the price will be higher.
IMA_FARANG
You can find clean and decent apartments in the 30 to 40 U.S. dollar per night range for a 2 week stay. But going down under 30 dollars, and you may be disapointed with the results. Especially if you insist on lower Sukhumvit road. Which I refer o as the farang Ghetto area. Kitchen facilities are more costy also. Since tour looking on line look for a place called Tanatawy Places at the URL www.tanataweyolaces.com Whlch does not have kitchen facilities but has a restaurant on the 1st floor. Near the Chinese embessy with easy access to the MRT and the Fortune Mall, Many Chinese quests, security, Thai/Chinese food mainly but some international Will allow 1 or 2 week stays and starts at $24 a night Clean and good WIFI acess.(some rooms may be charged for WIFI access weekly or monthly). NOT on Sukhumvit road but easy access to the MRT system by a Tuk Tuk shuttle service free for guests.

blasteen
Thanks for the replies. I think I will be needing the kitchen for sure. I guess 30-40 dollars a night should be fine as long as the place is good. I am thinking of staying close to the MRT around Asok/Nana/phloen chit. any recommendations based on these preferences ?
