BANGKOK, 21 October 2016 (NNT) - National carrier Thai Airways International PCL has resolved to waive its rescheduling and rerouting fees, while organizing a special fare to accommodate Thais in distant provinces wishing to fly to Bangkok and pay their respects to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Grand Palace.

President of Thai Airways Jarumporn Chotikasathien revealed that in tribute to the Late King, Thai Airways International issued several policies for its passengers. Rescheduling and rerouting fees will be waived for passengers that booked flights to or from Bangkok before October 15th for travel between October 14th to November 14th. However, any taxes and fare differences will be charged accordingly.

Furthermore, the company also launched a special fare for domestic travel, starting at 1,090 baht, with business class at 3,090 baht per trip. The ticket is now available for purchase through the airline’s website or sales office at 02-356-1111. The fare is on offer until December 31st this year.

Rescheduling and rerouting fees? What? Can they speak simple English and just say on average what you'll save.

Yeah that was what I thought.  What are they talking about?  How about a special 50% off deal for Thai citizens on certain flights or times that aren't heavily used?

Cool a discount for Thai people,  so if their falng partner wishes to travel with them, then will they also enjoy what ever the discount is?

Just have to hope any meals/drinks/snakes are not as pricey as the ones on the infamous Hawaii flight...   just say'n...:partytime2:

The foodportions are very tiny and disguisting but free in Thai air, the stewardess told me they even bring their own food.

Rescheduling = change date of flight. On the lower fares (cheap tickets) there is a change date fee, so they wan't charge

Rerouting = Change of route. Supposed you bought a ticket from Chiang Mai to Udon, but now would like to change it to be Chiang Mai to BKK, for this period they will not charge penalty fees.

Hope that cleared it up for you guys.

Actually it is a special promotion for 2 passengers flying together from anywhere in Thailand to BKK and back. They do not limit it for Thai citizens only - at least I didn't see in the booking engine a question about nationality, and the offer shows in English as well as in Thai.

The limitations are:

1. The destination is BKK, can't start from BKK and back to BKK

2. Must be 2 passengers per booking

3. Minimum stay in BKK 2 days, maximum 7 or 14 days depending on the price selected (less than 100 THB for the 14 days...)

and of course, availability is limited so not on every flight you can get this price, and the number of seats is not so big.
