Harbor Department provides free boat service

BANGKOK, 21 October 2016 (NNT) – The Harbor Department and Thai Boats Association have been facilitating the general public traveling to the Grand Palace to mourn the passing of His Majesty the King. 

Harbor Department Director General Sornsak Saensombat has disclosed that the Harbor Department and Thai Boats Association have been providing free boat services to the general public traveling to mourn the late His Majesty the King. 

Free ferry services from Prannok Pier to Phrachan Tai Pier and from Rakhang Temple Pier to Phrachan Tai Pier are available during 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. 

Free Chao Phraya speed boats will depart each hour from Sathorn Pier to Tha Chang Pier, during 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m, with a service capacity of 120 passengers per trip. 

The Harbor Department has also dispatched officials and patrol boats to monitor security at piers with high passenger traffic, to minimize the risk of accidents.
