Hua Lampong MRT & Train Station Jam packed today.

Featured Replies

Just a heads-up.  Not surprising since there are free shuttle buses running from the station(s) toward the ceremony near the Grand Palace.  I walked from the MRT to the Grand Palace area this morning and it was fine.  But on the way back to the MRT, I felt like a salmon swimming upstream.  Hundreds of thousands of people walking and riding toward the ceremony.  Free food, water and first aid care all over the place.

At the MRT station, the escalator up into the train station was backed up to the bottom.  There was no room for people to get off the escalator because of the queues to get on the buses.  The area where you'd normally get a taxi is packed too tight to move.  And each subway coming in is bringing in a very full load of more people.

If you love well behaved crowds, this is the place.  If you' don't like crowds, I'd suggest anywhere else in BKK today.

Edit:  BTW, Chinatown was fine- as always, but if you take the MRT to get there, exit Hua Lampong at the very first exit- don't go through the train station.

Pay attention to the news, there is 200,000+ plus crowd gather to sing the royal anthem at Suan Luang 1PM, there will be another session at 10PM.
