For the IT experts. For a government activity like this and where there is the possibility of compromise of national security, do other countries have live back up / alternative systems etc? Is that possible?

Not in Thailand. Not so long ago the Air Traffic Control system went down and there was no backup. Any money for such things might have been siphoned off, perhaps?

Wake up yourself, I never said anything about Mr t.

Yes, it is 2016 and he is sooooo over thailand. He's got a great life where he is. Why would he jeopardise that. Most of the concerns about him coming back or even giving two hoots about thailand, are from unfounded paranoia of the i want to control everything camp.

I was refering to any number of people with no one specific in mind.

What total rubbish.

Why would he want to come back? 46 Billion Baht strikes me as one possibility.

Power hungry, revenge ...

No big deal computer systems pack in all over the world I remember banking systems crashed in UK took a week to sort no money for people from back ect ect. They will catch it all up.

The system crashed due to steven seagal's inflated ego entering the kingdom...

Imagine his arrival card:

Steven

Seagal

Profession: Martial arts specialist, actor, director, Cia informant, singer songwriter, buddhist, amulet collector, poetin lover, etc.

Income: 100.000.000$

WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!!!!!!

Correct you ate not. We bit jealous are we?

I arrived at the airport Sunday at 8pm.  I can confirm there were long queues at Immigration. My daughter who can speak Thai and English (unlike me) told me that the computer system was down.  We queued for almost an hour to reclaim our bags.

What happened......someone posted a pic of their lunch and all terminals clicked "like" at the same time?

I think it's more like they were trying to filter out cynical negative TV members and found there was too many positive results but couldn't understand why they keep coming back in that crashed the system.

SYSTEM ERROR DOES NOT COMPUTE.

As I mentioned in a previous post when I was at immagrtion in MAP ta Putt  I saw one the monitors with XP windows. Man how long was that software used. Not a.wonder it crashed. And if they are still using that country wide no wonder there are problems with the 90 day report.

I once did a visa run to Laos with a new passport, cause the old one got in the laundry!

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

I don't understand. Why would doing a visa run to Laos cause your old passport to end up in the laundry?

It makes one wonder- how did people survive prior to the computer age?  Actually, quite well.

Although before computers . you could just give your passport to a local guy , who would go to the border and come back with a new visa without you ever having to leave the beach

I'm guessing they could easily override that error by entering your elite card number. :coffee1:

System must be overloaded with all the TM28,TM30,90 Day reports,

immigration information forms,extensions,visa applications,etc,too

much information that they cannot cope ?

That's why "Good guys in, bad guys out...":cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

Great! I actually thought all the electronics at the immigration was just for looks, especially with all the existing piles of paper files at Immigration police stations waiting to be processed.

Good to know there was/is a system actually in place.

Soooooooooooooo Sorry!

I only wanted to charge my mobile while waiting at Suvarnabhumi .

How was I to know the PIBICS  server was on the other end of that plug I  pulled.

Finally they might understand how ridiculous and useless they are whatever they do !

Yeah it's a joke and a system designed only to fine people.  They always come unstuck looking stupid. Even when you run around for them. Your still treated like a potential criminal. Do they not know that these people at the desks are the ones that give there digital hub of Asia a bad name.

Wouldn't be surprised if we soon hear about a big LEAK of tons of gigabytes of Thai Immigration Data...

$#!t happens when you're (still) running a Thai XP-version...

Money spent on maintenance= a working system.

Maintenance in Thailand means: washing the screens, the body and when it has wheels; the wheels too.

I know a story of a friend's wife that maintained his laptop what happened in September 2016. It was clean from the outside and after 4 days water still came out of alle the holes... New motherboard, CPU, HD, DVD drive, battery, memory cards but it was cheaper than buying a new one... Also he had a Thai version of Windows 7 installed loaded with extra software containing loads of virusses and fake virus scanners.

Somehow I just cannot see the TAT lady lying. Well back to the North Korean News.

That doesn't answer my question.

not ridiculous but true. Most refugees arrive without any sort of documents, let alone a passport. Ten Thousands sneaked in undocumented

Yes, because the criminals' passports clearly indicate they are criminals and not recording their arrivals or departures on Sunday is really criminal on the part of Immigration.

Thats no problem for you guys..

Imagine Thavisa go down, and you had to write/comment all your "problems" manually by postcards and letters
