Like Australians and NZers do in their home countries you mean?

Because the system is down in Thailand, they close all the auto gates for thai citizens too. But TM6 forms are hand written and only hand collected, for Thais that go through the auto gate it is never scanned, same for anyone who goes to the desk as well, they just throw it in a pile in a basket from what I observed.

If thats the case for Aussies and Nzers, yes I think its silly too.

For the IT experts. For a government activity like this and where there is the possibility of compromise of national security, do other countries have live back up / alternative systems etc? Is that possible?

Yes it is always a 1+1 system. If one fails the other automatically handles the load as each is sized for 50% + 50%

System must be overloaded with all the TM28,TM30,90 Day reports,

immigration information forms,extensions,visa applications,etc,too

much information that they cannot cope ?

regards worgeordie

Hope whoever is reparing the system is not the same one that is responsible for fixing the CM online booking system ,that's be down for 2 years.

Most countries where this has happened before do not even tell the public

We came in through Swampy on Monday at 14h30 and the people was backed up about a hundred per line. Wonder when the problem was solved.

It just so happens that I left Thailand on Sunday the 23rd of October for manila

And I  have the exit stamp in my passport to show it.

I will be returnung to Bangkok on the 28th also with the unused half of that same ticket

That should be interesting,

All entries and departures have been recorded.

It's the scanning of TM6, arrival/departure card that was down.

Who ?

Mr T.

Think what you will. Wake up to the 2016 year, not 1920.

Wake up yourself, I never said anything about Mr t.

Yes, it is 2016 and he is sooooo over thailand. He's got a great life where he is. Why would he jeopardise that. Most of the concerns about him coming back or even giving two hoots about thailand, are from unfounded paranoia of the i want to control everything camp.

I was refering to any number of people with no one specific in mind.

I was interested in his opinion.

Why would he want to come back? 46 Billion Baht strikes me as one possibility.

Prior to that incident, and shortly after, was there an increased E-Mail and SMS traffic between Thailand an Nigeria?

Thai Immigration's online 90-day reporting system was down ALL DAY Monday and Tuesday, and didn't return until sometime early today/Wednesday.

I don't know how or if that system is linked to the airport system, although I'm guessing it's not a coincidence they were both down at the same time.  And if that's the case, the outage wasn't just Sunday.

Note to self....remember to laugh next time go i through immigration. Tee hee.

Do we all have to line up for a manual headcount this weekend?

At London Heathrow, you don't even have to show a passport when you leave, or see an Immigration Officer. They obviously pick up all your details from the airline manifest so don't need to bother you again.

Also entering the UK for EU nationals is very easy now they have the automatic gates that read your passport details, no queues.

Hope I live long enough to see this sort of system in Thailand.

So that's why, in this electronic age, they still make us fill in an arrival/departure card.

Yes, well the Thais have to complete one, too; just in reverse. Nuts, though no doubt helpful to some if they keep track of their own citizens' movements. Numerous other SEA countries don't use them.

At Jomtien yesterday people were told to collect there passports in 2 days time due to the internet being down. Normally next day.

I had an appointment at Chiang Mai Immigration cancelled yesterday because their system was down too.

It makes one wonder- how did people survive prior to the computer age?  Actually, quite well.

Quite an admission to make but I'm sure that's as far as it will go. I can't seem them ever admitting that anyone on a Stop List was permitted to enter or leave.

There is no indication on who or what brought the site down , let me guess hacker anonymous, then again it might have been a new licenced electrician showing off his talents,  also a good reason to introduce the sim tracker .

The system crashed due to steven seagal's inflated ego entering the kingdom...

Imagine his arrival card:

Steven

Seagal

Profession: Martial arts specialist, actor, director, Cia informant, singer songwriter, buddhist, amulet collector, poetin lover, etc.

Income: 100.000.000$

WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!!!!!!

Haha... just when IS is urgently seeking relocation from Mosul Irak

Good timing lads

Pffft lol, 46 billion. A pee in the ocean to him. That's why they hate him so much. He doesn't need any of them. I don't think he has to worry too much about money. Every time his name goes in the newspaper sales skyrocket. I don't think he has to worry about his popularity either. Let's face facts.

Windows XP is getting a little long in the tooth...

This is awful, quite frightful!

Do you realise that this means that the next batch of TAT statistics may not be 100% reliable?
