Honest Bangkok cabbie has every reason to thank his passenger!

What a nice man , I have never met a dishonest taxi driver in Bangkok.  They turn on the meter and drive me the distance. But I avoid airports and tourist areas.

There seems to be one about every 2 weeks.. is there a department somewhere churning out these stories?

it usually follows the "elderly farang  beaten and robbed in tourist spot" story

What's with all this constant praise for taxi drivers? Are there no other noteworthy deeds being done by good citizens?

I might be wrong, but I think there is. These "stories" pop up far too often. Call me a cynic but hey! Not once have we had the media follow up, and ask any of the tourists, if the story is true. And hey, just look at the "taxi" driver, one would think he'd be just a little happy, about receiving 35,000 baht. Land of the Fakes, to me, this could be another one.
