Mr. Wichai handed the work policy for the prevention and eradication of narcotics to the Command Center For Combating Drugs. The policy focuses on operational integration to allow the officials to check the information related to illicit drugs so they can truly eliminate them. With accurate information, the provincial authority would be able to lay out plans to prevent the spread of narcotics. In addition, local villagers and people in different communities will help monitor the situation and take part in the plan. Mr. Wichai said most of the budget will be used in the local areas in order for the plan to prevent and eradicate narcotics to be implemented effectively in Chiang Mai. If not confronted fast and effectively, I think drugs could really erode Thai society and it's social/family structure. Up here in Chiang Dao, the local officials are very strict against drugs, which I find good. I have seen too many people's lives ruined by drug use.
