Just want to let you all know that obtaining a TR visa in Penang is no problem at all. Just got back and all was easy as it used to be.

Met 2 girls from Uzbekistan and they even got their TR visa without any questions asked. Storm in a glass of water if you ask me.

Anyway for all you worriers, don't worry all seems to be okido.

Sounds good to me. Perhaps you're right. But how many consecutive stamps do you already have for staying in Thailand ? Seems most people are getting negative results already when the officer sees they've already been living here on VOA's for awhile. No problems for travelers in general in the region, mehtinks.

Been hre for 8 years, sometimes 1 year visas, sometimes VOA's sometimes, TR visas. Got a new passport since July which only contains VOA's. But spoke to some onther visa runners who had VOA's and TR for the last years and they also got "single entry" TR visas without any questions asked. When I asked if I was welcome to come back in 3 months the answer was yes.

So I think all will be fine.

I would challenge that statement about most folks getting negative results. Do you have anything to back that up? Not from postings on TV. Plenty of pessimism about the future but little bad news when it comes to being denied for single entry TV's in Malaysia etc.

Indeed there have been negative postings in this forum but I suspect they are a distinct minority and may have more to do with other considerations and the multi visa issue only used as an excuse. But it is being used occasionally.
