PHATHUM THANI, 29th October 2016, (NNT) - Foreign media has reported that Pathum Thani provincial prison recently held an event for prisoners to express their love and loyalty to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej who passed away on October 13th, 2016.

International news agency Reuters reported that a total of 3,599 prisoners gathered to form the Thai traditional numeral 9 in the correction facility grounds located in Khlong Luang district of the province; they later sang songs composed by the King. His Majesty is known as Rama IX.

More than 100 prison officers also joined the activities together with the incarcerated individuals.

According to the warden, the event provided an opportunity for the prisoners to pay tribute to the revered monarch, while instilling the values of the good Samaritan of Thailand.
