Register UK / Scot Birth after 11 months - Too late?

Hi,

I'm looking to register my childs birth in the UK / Scotland before 1 year old which is coming up soon.

Am I too late to do this?... I think I read somewhere it could only be done in the first 2 months from birth. Maybe Scotland can still do?

Also, is it better to do this process wth the British Embassy in Thailand or do online?

Info; family living in Thailand, I'm married to Thai wife.

Yes of course.

But I was hoping someone who hadn't registered the birth in the first 2 months or so could share their experience / difficulties and whether successful or not.

Why do you want to register the birth? It costs over 10,000 baht and you don't receive a birth certificate. Instead you receive something similar to a birth certificate, but which cannot even be used to apply for a UK passport.

Just apply directly for a UK passport. Assuming you were born in the UK then your child was British from birth. I've attached the disclaimer from my son's consular registration so you can see how useless it is.
