Got a single entry tourist visa in September from the Thai Embassy in Cairo as I was there on business anyway. Thought it was a 3-month visa and would be stamped in at Suvahrnabhumi airport for 3 months but instead got stamped in for just 2 months.  Checked again and the visa in my passport doesn't show the number of months I am actually allowed to stay in the Kingdom.

To cut a long story short, I can legally stay in Thailand until the 18th of November. Now, what I would like to find out from experienced visa folks in this forum is whether my visa is extendable at immigration for 1 more month, or do I need to leave the country to get myself another tourist visa?

Thanks.

a tourist visa gives a permission to stay stamp of 60 days, the visa as it was a SETV, is now finished, yes you can extend for another 30 days at a local immigration office, (1,900 baht), this 30 days extension will start on the 19th  November, apply from the 4th onwards.

It is good for 60 days then you go to immigration extend for another 30 days. To my knowledge there never has been a 90 day tourist visa. Go to immigration up to 30 days before it expires you will not lose anytime

  • A Thai Tourist Visa is valid for 3 months from the date it's issued and expires on the 'enter before' date that is printed on the visa.
  • The visa gives you permission to stay for 60 days whenever you enter country, which can be any day on or before the 'enter before' date.
  • The 60 day permit to stay can be extended by 30 days at a local immigration office for 1,900 baht.
