TM28 Not Required Says Immigration

Featured Replies

Just renewed my 90 day during which immigration officer filled out the form for me without being asked ( such genuinely nice people)  and so I asked about the need to submit the TM28 form as Mrs Dark Lord and I travel within LOS quite a bit.

Answer was "We know where you live, you tell us every 90 days. Why bother doing it again? No, don't bother with it"

Three minutes later I was stamped signed and out.

Dont want to get my local immigration guys in the caca so will not disclose which one they are but they are a genuine credit to the country. Even Mrs Dark Lord commented on what great service they gave and she rarely says anything positive........

That is what most immigration offices will say. They do not enforce the TM28 reporting since they are fully aware it would be almost impossible to do. Just do one if you change addresses.

It is a bit like some offices want the TM30 if you leave and re-enter the country. Many don't want a new one unless you move.

God I can be thick at times. Sorry mate

You're lucky . At my immigration office , if they find out , that's a fine and cancelling my extention or refuse to give another retirement extention.

...not typical.....

..part of the problem...arbitrary interpretation and application of 'the law'....

Last month when I got back from Europe, I went as usual to report within 24 hours at the Police office close to the Immigration near the airport..... they left in my passport the old receipt and just wrote a number by hand on it.... the officer wrote something in a book and told me that my landlord did not need to come to fill up a new form....

I think you should have asked them about the TM30, not a TM28.

No wonder they didn't want a TM28 as you hadn't changed address.

All Immigration Offices appear to act as independent franchises hence the confusion.

Rules come and go,what is a rule today will be forgotten about tomorrow.

Just have to learn to live with it.

Been out came back went to immigration with new tm 30 for same address as old one but new departure card. ."why you waste time coming you not moved don't need Tm30 every time you come back thailand. ONLY if you move) so we won't bother again.
