Hello yet another question on the AO long stay. It mentions having to give details of money in a bank, for me this is Barclays bank in England.

I asked the bank about getting a letter of proof of savings sent to me so I could get this signed by a solicitor before taking it to the embassy in London.

They tell me they can only send the letter to a 3rd party. I don't expect I could get it sent to the embassy. So that leaves me to ask my solicitor to get the letter to be sent to them ?

Has anybody else had this problem and how did you deal with it ?

All you need is some sort of statement showing your UK address and account balance, copied onto company headed paper and stamped in branch. This can then be taken to a solicitor to make a certified copy.
