Hat Yai continues on high security alert as terror grips far south

HAT YAI: -- The city of Hat Yai continues to be on the highest terror alert as fears mount that the city will be targeted after attacks on three provinces on Wednesday.

 

Roads into the city are being monitored according to the highest level of security with scans of suspect vehicles in place.

 

Police, soldiers and other authorities are manning the checkpoints.

 

The heightened security operations follow bombing and arson attacks in three provinces namely Naratiwat, Pattani and Songkhla where Hat Yai itself is situated.
