I came to thailand with my business visa in my old passport. i need to apply for a work permit. I have renewed  my passport but the visa is on the old passport. Do i need to apply for a business visa in my new passport? Or can i submit both the passports to apply for a work permit ?

If you have a valid visa from an embassy or consulate you would use both passports until your visa expires and you get a new one.

So, can i apply for my work permit with both the passports ? Or does BOI have to transfer the visa from the old one to the new one ?

A visa from an embassy or consulate cannot be transferred. You would use both passports to get your work permit. 

Immigration will only transfer an extension of stay issued by them and will do a stamp where info about the visa used for entry and the old passport will be entered.

In that case how do i apply for a work permit ? Do i submit both my passports for the same?
