Internet, cellphone fees to have greater weight in calculating inflation

BANGKOK: -- THE COMMERCE Ministry will adjust its inflation calculation system by increasing the weightage for Wi-Fi and mobile phone service fees, and processed food in order to reflect the real cost of daily spending. The change is due to greater use of Internet and mobile phones by customers, while lifestyle has seen a huge change.

Organisers postpone events until after 100-day mourning

“Nitarn Hinghoi The Musical” will be back onstage in late January after the 100-day national mourning period, Workpoint Entertainment says.

 

BANGKOK: -- ALTHOUGH the government will allow entertainment activities to resume after the 30-day national mourning period ends, more than 80 per cent of entertainment-based marketing and show-businesses events planned for the final quarter of the year have been postponed to February or March, according to the Event Management Association.

Abu Sayyaf claims to have kidnapped German, killed woman

Private sector to continue observing the 100-day mourning period for the King

BANGKOK: -- The private sector has cancelled all entertainment activities planned for the upcoming Loy Krathong, Christmas and New Year countdown although the government has announced to allow these activities to be resumed after the ending of the 30-day mourning period on November 14.
