Residency letter/Yellow Book

Featured Replies

On 1 year extension based visiting Thai kids aquired in Prachuap Immigration.

Have yellow bok registerd at address in Prachuap and 90 day reporting done in Prachuap if needed as have left country few times.

Currently in Chonburi province, have purchased motorbike need to change name in green book. Apparently wont accept yellow book from Prachuap at vehicle office so need residence leeter from jomtien.

Own condo in Jomtien but am not regidtered there. How can obtain letter of residence without problem?

You will need proof you are living within Jomtien"s area of responsibility to get the certificate of residency.

I see no reason they should not accept your yellow house book from Prachuap.

The DLT office in Pattaya does not accept yellow books from anyone.

- You could just take the green book down south and register the bike at the DLT office in Prachuap.

- You could try to get the letter from Jomtien Immigration based on your Jomtien condo blue book.

- If Immigration notices that you are not "signed up" at the Jomtien office, then you could submit a TM28 and make Jomtien your assigned office.

I really wish that someone would end this controversy once and for all

Half of the posts here at TV report that Pattaya DLT will not accept a Yellow Book and will only accept the Residency Certificate or Work Permit issued by Jomtien Immigration and the other half say that they can use the Yellow Book at the DLT

So tired of the rules constantly changing in this country, especially as it relates to the Yellow Book

The rules are not "changing"'; it's just the rules are not followed or rules don't exist.

It's like having a law on the books that the police/courts will not enforce.

I did a renewal at Pattaya with my yellow book 2 weeks ago.

I'm glad to hear it. Maybe last year when I complained, they listened, and changed their policy.  555

Cheers guys, Ive also used my yellow book befor in Pattaya but as Im far from Regents I was going to get a shop to do it and they said yellow book no good. Ive yet to get the book for the condo but will eventually. its a day off work for me to get there myselfe. ive managed to get a LOR for a small fee as need the transfer done quickly but would be good if there was consistency one way or the other.

The main concern is the extension is based on visiting kids which i do every few weeks but I am now 300kms away, would immigration question the validity of the extension now....and for future extensions
