PATTAYA: -- On November 16 Pattaya police received reports of a serious assault outside the KTM Motorcycle Shop on Moo 10, central Pattaya.

At the scene paramedics treated fifty-six year old Mr Wichai Huayyai for stab wounds to his left arm.

He was later taken to Bangkok – Pattaya Hospital for further treatment.

He told officers that he had stopped to urinate at the side of the street when he noticed an angry man approaching him who then attacked him with a knife.

The suspect escaped but local witnesses directed police officers to a room at 111/256 Soi Buakao, South Pattaya where they arrested twenty-nine year old Mr Naruenart Gunmaen.

However, after questioning, officers believed the suspect to be ‘unbalanced’ and not of a ‘normal mind.’

He has been detained for assessment.
