Education Minister to ask DSI to handle OTEP corruption as special case

BANGKOK, 17 November 2016 (NNT) – The Minister of Education will ask the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to investigate allegations regarding the Office of the Welfare Promotion Commission for Teachers and Educational Personnel's (OTEP) involvement with corruption.

Education Minister Daphong Rattanasuwan disclosed that he had signed a letter to the Anti-Corruption Operation Center to play a major role in coordinating and following fraudulent behaviors related to teachers' pension fund valued at three billion baht.

The Minister of Education is coordinating closely with the Ministry of Justice in order to hand investigation over to the DSI as a special case, which would hasten the process of expediting the allegations of corruption.
