Just when you thought it could not get worse after Bush wars and Obama overspending spree comes a narcissist conman voted in by the anger of voters. History has taught us many times anger destroys your opportunity for good judgment and acting mainly in your own self interest destroys your soul.

At least we are not England who wants to be alone in the world and close its borders and keep all its sterling to rebuild factories that will never exist in England again.

I hope good ole England can defend its borders alone when the Russian or Chinese or American or any other army see something they deem worth taking from the Brits.  I surely do not anticipate any country currently coming to help their defense.

Not meaning to be unfair to the good Russian, Chinese and American and British people only meaning to point out what a dangerous foolish step the Brits have taken by abandoning their friendships and protection of their group friends.

The day will come when no one will admit they voted for Brexit and no one will admit they voted for Trump. ?

A bit like 1940 then you mean?

Having to settle a $25M lawsuit for FRAUD should be a presidency-ending disaster.

Keep asking why it isn't.

Do not normalize this con man's presidency.

"He was willing to sacrifice his personal interests, put this behind him, and move forward," Petrocelli said.

What a kind and generous self sacrificing good man he must be, besides fact he was guilty.

So now apologists, excuse makers start up with "But but but HILLARY" as if that has anything to do with this.

I wonder how long (if ever) his backers will take to wake up and realize " He conned us too. Why did we ever think just this one time he might mean what he says?"

The Republican protagonists have to set the Donald up to make it look like he fell on his own sword before pushing quarterback Pence into the game a much more malleable marionette. It will be the night of the long knives.

Alan Garten, the Trump Organization's general counsel, said he had "no doubt" Trumpwould have prevailed at trial.

Well lets hope the Judge considers the settlement to low and he calls Trump to trial. These 6000 people have been the subject of an intentional fraud and the US system is normally far more generous to such victims than to give them 'almost' their money back. They should be on a million dollars each on normal scales. Remember Judge, Trump despises you because you are a Mexican rapist drug dealer who cannot be fair because you are biased by your Mexican heritage. Show Trump what fair is, let him have his day in court!

I imagine Trump will pay the 25 Million of of the Trump foundation or from the leftovers of the campaign funds.

Personally, I like guys that don't have to pay 25 million dollars to avoid facing criminal charges.

Well, it was a civil case. But I do wonder why no criminal charges were brought. Isn't fraud a crime?  And we have him on record lying about the "University."

good point, i was under the impression he was facing criminal charges here in SD.   I guess he was/is also facing a civil suit, something involving a 13 year old girl at the home of his billionaire buddy/pedophile Jeffery Epstein:  http://occupydemocrats.com/2016/10/11/federal-judge-just-ordered-trumps-child-rape-case-move-forward/

I believe that case was dropped. But here's a quote in the article that was taken from NY Magazine in 2002

Trump’s camp has immediately denied all the accusation and denied all connection to Epstein, even though he told New York magazine in 2002 that “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

What makes this bizarrely amusing is the constant barrage of attacks by Breitbart et al. on Bill Clinton for his friendship with Epstein.

How can someone lose a civil suit that scammed people and took $25 million to settle, plus $1 million court costs, and not be liable for criminal charges?  in his depositions he admits his intent.  Is the rape of underage people also limited to civil cases these days?  From one side of his mouth he says Epstein is his good buddy, from the other side he condemns Bill Clinton for being associated with him.

It's time to play back all those things Donald said during the campaign about rigged systems, crooked FBI for not going after Hillary, etc and direct them back at him.  This judge allowed the case to be put to rest without Donald allocuting.  What the hell?

Nope. Not at all. There are two very different legal issues  involved;

1. Claims against an auto manufacturer  relate to a product defect and the  alleged failure  to remedy the defect. The defect is a small part of the overall  product sold. In your example of GM, the  company does not set out to intentionally physically harm anyone.

2. The Trump case relates to an intentional fraud, an act of deceit.

2. The Trump case relates to an intentional fraud, an act of deceit.

'An act of deceit" something akin to electioneering rhetoric.

Sensible move....the man has bigger things to do than get mired in fighting irrelevant court cases.

Ah yes bigger things but are they better things. On January 20th set your 100 day stop watch and do a reality check. So many have perceived so much from this man. Unless there is an inner man we have not yet been exposed to he will do an ego implosion. You might want to stand back as fecal matter is sticky stuff.

An act of deceit or electioneering rhetoric hmm seems all the same to me with a dollop of biased media thrown in.

Always a mistake to get involved in political discussions, nobody ever wins.

If we don't discuss politics that means we accept the status quo. Hands up who is satisfied with the status quo?

I doubt it, but why post this except for the purpose of deflecting? This topic is about Trump and his out of court settlement.

Because Trumpeteers have learned from the thatched one, don't answer a question about Trump, deflect to Clinton every time. They will likely still be doing this BS in 4 years time.

Without Fox News his deflections would have fallen on deaf ears. It is truly amazing what a person will do for a paycheck even sell their soul to the devil. I sometimes watch Fox New for a laugh but often wonder how these "reporters" can get their feet to hit the floor in the morning. If I had to spew out all the rhetorical garbage I would truly hope there was a bar close by for a bit of after hours soul cleansing.

I have a feeling that we are going to find out that it is Trump who has a lot more baggage.   And I think Trump U is just the beginning.

Whomever thinks HRC has more legal baggage or lies more than Trump, has been believing the cavalcade of false news for the past 17 months.  It's now clearer than ever that there are hundreds, perhaps thousands of people (both US-based and abroad) who spend much of their waking hours generating false news.  There's money to be made doing that.  The more 'hits' a false-news story gets, the more money is generated for the perpetrator.

Some of the most proliferate posters are coming out of the shadows now, and laughing at how gullible Trump fans have been, and how the posters are making decent money from Trump fans' mega gullibility.    Some of the posters are bragging about how they skewed the election in favor of Trump, .....and it's true!   More than a few posts on T.Visa in past months have been repeating such blatant lies, which T.Visa posters found in false-news reports online.

Trump fans will never do this, but reasonable people may:  List all the assertions (of illegal activity and lies) about HRC and list all those attributed to Trump.   Next, do some research to see which stories are true and which are false.   Some people have done that, and the ratio of false stories about HRC compared to the same about Trump are about 78 to 19.   In other words, there are many times more false news stories on HRC than on Trump.  The simple reason:  Trump has a lot more really ugly things in his resume.  HRC has relatively few, and her mishaps are much less grave than what's been attributed to Trump.

The online scam artists know how readily Trump fans lap up ugly shit stories on HRC, so that's where their focus is.  It earns them more money, paid by multi-billion dollar online companies.

Another reason there are so more false stories about Clinton than about Trump is the fact that Clinton and, for that matter, Sanders supporters, just aren't as gullible as Trump supporters. In Macedonia there's a town where some internet savvy young men started creating false news sites designed to appeal to Trump supporters. And they succeeded. They tried the same thing for Clinton and Sanders supporters but got nowhere.

There was also an article in the Washington Post about one false news creator whose intent was satire. But Trump supporters actually believed him when he wrote that Clinton supporters were being paid $3500 to protest against Trump.  But it was from this article and others like it that we now see right wingers using the phrase "professional protesters."

i wouldn't mind a bit of status quo …. now that the old status quo has been up-ended.

The trend of cutting deals to benefit corporate donors, pals and fellow globalists has been short circuited for a while….allowing mr trump to try something new….I'd like to see how he gets on with it….he may not succeed in exactly the way it has been presented but I am curious to see.

Already, China and mexico are crying foul….for them to get so riled up is interesting.

Yes I eagerly await the unfolding to like an expectant father. Your comment on cutting deals to benefit corporations donors pals and fellow globalist could remain and play out much like the Apple did in the Garden of Eden. I would love to see Mr. Trump do something new but I am finding it hard to envision that when looking at the old recycled hacks in his new cabinet. They remind me of the movie Oceans 11. They all had a latent talent for dismantling things to make their devious plan run smoothly. Again like the movie I think they will get away with the loot.
