Just spent three days re-building in a "built in" wardrobe, squared up their frame, re-plastered and painted the adjoining walls. Hoping to complete a hardwood deck this week if it stops raining and then finish off some exterior tiling. It's just easier, cheaper and far more satisfying to do it myself. The only difficulty is buying components of sufficient quality. Luckily I travel to Aus, Singapore and the UK frequently so have a chance to stock up on tools and hardware.
November 23, 20169 yr "Question: So you put your finger (or what ever) in the glue and smear it on the inside and outside of the part to be joined. Then you do the same again 3 more times? I'm interested as got my irrigation project coming up." Actually I use all materials from the U.S. not Thai type glues sand all joints remove with 91% Isopropyl alcohol(from the U.S.) I also build & design septic systems for Vietnam & Philippine islands. Proud to say in 12 years here I have had only 1 leak when I put a new valve in & forgot to glue on the elbow. In the last 40 years only 2 leaks. I use Q-tips from the states & they work fine. Only an amateur would finger paint glue. We discussed this probably 50 times in the past 12 years.
November 23, 20169 yr You put a smear of the solvent on both parts then force them together and hold so the chemical reaction does it's stuff, 20 seconds does it. Leave it to cure..

November 24, 20169 yr Our kitchen sink was blocking every 6 months and was no longer responding to any means, chemical or mechanical, to clear it. Since then I have become a great believer in external / easily get-at-able plumbing for drainage and feed to the taps. Used to be the law in the UK many years ago.
