Close friend of Trump investigated over alleged €170m tax evasion

Real estate mogul Thomas Barrack, under investigation in Italy, played a critical role in Trump’s 2016 US presidential campaign

(sub-title)

"A close friend and major fundraiser for Donald Trump is under investigation in Italy for allegedly evading €170m (£147m, $190m) in taxes after the sale of a luxury resort on Sardinia’s Emerald Coast, the beach playground frequented by Gulf Arabs and Russian oligarchs."

"Thomas Barrack played a critical role in Trump’s 2016 election campaign and inauguration and has been described as one of the president’s key advisers outside the West Wing."

"Last year, Barrack helped to recruit his longtime close friend, the former lobbyist Paul Manafort, who had a history of lobbying on behalf of Russian and Ukrainian interests close to Vladimir Putin, to join Trump’s campaign."

Trump Copied Another Family’s Coat Of Arms

The emblem’s original bearer “would be rolling over in his grave,” a grandson tells The New York Times. (sub-title)

"President Donald Trump’s company, the Trump Organization, is marking golf properties and related products in the U.S with a coat of arms that belongs to a different family, after being barred by British authorities from doing so in the United Kingdom, according to a New York Times report on Sunday."

"The Trump emblem is a nearly exact copy of the crest Britain granted to American diplomat Joseph Edward Davies in 1939. There’s just one tweak: where the original featured “integritas,” the Latin word for integrity, the president’s version substitutes, inevitably, the name “Trump.”

"Davies’ grandson, former Sen. Joseph D. Tydings (D-Md.), told the Times Trump never asked for his permission to adopt the crest. The corrupted version of the emblem is now used on a range of Trump products ― even body wash."

Well his daughters company copies shoes and other designer clothes so it is all to be expected really. Or should we say in the US now, not expected but "it is all to be accepted".

Sources: Russians discussed potentially 'derogatory' information about Trump and associates during campaign

"Russian government officials discussed having potentially "derogatory" information about then-presidential candidate Donald Trump and some of his top aides in conversations intercepted by US intelligence during the 2016 election, according to two former intelligence officials and a congressional source."

"One source described the information as financial in nature and said the discussion centered on whether the Russians had leverage over Trump's inner circle."

"The source said the intercepted communications suggested to US intelligence that Russians believed "they had the ability to influence the administration through the derogatory information."

Portrait of a dangerous man.

Unfit to be president in the most extreme way.

This is getting worse. Much worse.

Stay tuned.

Quote

Trump, home all alone

Presidency is not a natural fit

So Trump returns to the White House this week just as he left -- lonely, angry and not happy with much of anyone.  The presidency, Donald Trump is discovering, is not an easy or natural fit.
"He now lives within himself, which is a dangerous place for Donald Trump to be," says someone who speaks with the President. "I see him emotionally withdrawing. He's gained weight. He doesn't have anybody whom he trusts.

Perhaps that's part of Trump's strategy for delaying and obfuscating the investigations:  Keep piling on the shocking new headlines.

MSM's talking heads are chuckling among themselves because; as soon as they get a shocking headline about Trump's and his peoples' law-breaking, .....another one pops up an hour or two later.  It's such a cavalcade of sordid news, that the FBI and others (if they're doing their jobs) may take many years to wade through.

If this keeps creeping along at a snail's pace, I picture Trump getting wheeled into court sometime in the late 2020's, hunched over with a respirator and several nurses shielding him - rather like we've seen happen with senile mafia dons, when they get wheeled into court, after decades of delays.

Investigation Turns to Kushner’s Motives in Meeting With a Putin Ally

"Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser, was looking for a direct line to President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia — a search that in mid-December found him in a room with a Russian banker whose financial institution was deeply intertwined with Russian intelligence, and remains under sanction by the United States."

"Federal and congressional investigators are now examining what exactly Mr. Kushner and the Russian banker, Sergey N. Gorkov, wanted from each other."

"That has raised questions about why he was meeting with Mr. Kushner at a crucial moment in the presidential transition, according to current and former officials familiar with the investigations."

The FBI and CIA are not sources?  Or is that another conspiracy?  Btw, tinfoil is on sale.  Stock up while you can.

The FBI and CIA have found nothing not legal. And yes, the FBI and CIA have both been influenced by the ObamaClinton Machine and their deportment is in dire need of repair.
I understand that being quite conservative I am far outnumbered.

The government is supposed to fear the resistance is the OP.

Looks like the resistance is trying harder to scare Trump.  A new low for them.

(Inflammatory image intentionally excluded.)

Kathy Griffin is an entertainer (she's usually very funny) and no rational person took her performance with the fake trump head as a serious threat to the clown president.

trump has nukes. She had paper mache or whatever that was.

Let's get real about the reasons that this mistake by Griffin is being exploited by trumpists. Own goal, I suppose.

Neofascist media outlets are already using the image to enhance the specter of a violent and out-of-control left, and right-wing political candidates will be fundraising off it for years. With the tide of scandal steadily lapping at Trump’s doorstep, he is already doing a credible job of—in purely metaphorical terms—tightening his own noose. He doesn’t need Kathy Griffin’s help.

Image was the one she actually created, no changes.  If it is inflammatory, it is on her and the resistance.

A criticism from a slate dot com blog?  Please.

Her threat, which is being investigated by the Secret Service, is a symptom of the real problem which is the oversensitive resistance is STILL angry that Trump won and the members do not want to accept that fact.

You just don't get it. I am not angry because Trump won, I am angry because of his imbecilic, inept, juvenile, criminal, narcissistic, pathological lying performance since he took the oath of office, ( concerning which he has no idea of the grave responsibility associated with that oath). Apart from all that I have no problems with him..........apart from his orangeness, his hairpiece and his 3 little piggy children.

Trump Is Urging World Leaders to Call Him on His Cell Phone, Raising Security Concerns

"President Donald Trump has been handing out his cellphone number to world leaders and urging them to call him directly, an unusual invitation that breaks diplomatic protocol and is raising concerns about the security and secrecy of the U.S. commander in chief's communications."

"Trump has urged leaders of Canada and Mexico to reach him on his cellphone, according to former and current U.S. officials with direct knowledge of the practice."

"If you are speaking on an open line, then it's an open line, meaning those who have the ability to monitor those conversations are doing so," said Derek Chollet, a former Pentagon adviser and National Security Council official now at the German Marshall Fund of the United States."

They for sure have found illegal activity by Trump's team. Lying under oath is a federal offense.

This has nothing to do with Obama or  Hillary. And nothing to do with being liberal or conservative. It's all about what's right and wrong.

Oh geez, dude, you want to MILK this, eh?

Yes, she's responsible for it.

Yes, it is inflammatory.

She has acknowledged that and apologized for it.

It is not the resistance. It's only on her and the small number of people involved in the stunt.

Slate blog ... your response proves the point in what I quoted.

Her threat investigated. They are obligated to respond but you know, I know, they know, and everyone knows that it did not represent any kind of real threat.

Of course he won. There is a resistance. So sorry that offends.

Definitely too much and thankfully,  she has apologized. Sadly,  that's what a nut like Trump brings out. Sometimes you really do reap what you sow. Trump's said some vile and nasty stuff.

Homeland Security said it was actually a good thing.  Back channel diplomacy is older than fire.  Disgruntled political appointees that were canned and now rent in Dale City aren't hard to find.  But, they need to realize that conversations that took place in December were extremely unlikely to have had an impact on the November 8 election.

You appear confused.

You are combining two different stories as one. A common trait amongst Trumpeteers.

(i.e: Russian interference in the U.S. election and obstruction of justice within the White House.)

"Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly is defending an alleged effort by top White House adviser Jared Kushner to create back-channel communications with Russia, describing it as a "good thing" as the Trump administration sought to quell mounting questions over secret ties to the Kremlin."

https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2017-05-29/kelly-defends-plan-for-russia-back-channel-as-a-good-thing

Firstly, Kushner was a private citizen as was Trump and his cronies, while they were back-channelling to a hostile country toward the U.S.

And it evolved like this:

1: Total denials that it ever occurred.
2: Kushner "doesn't remember" that it occurred.
3: Acknowledgment that it did indeed occur.
4: HSS Kelly says nothing to see here. All's good.
5: The buffoon occupying the White House then comes out and says it's all "fabricated lies"?

The article you quote is about the inept occupier in the White House using an unsecured phone.

Two different articles. Although, you weakly attempt to meld them together.

"Some of the Lefties need to put their money where their mouths are."

The same tedious, marginalizing, divisive rhetoric that is spewed when the Lemmings got nothin'...

Gambling is illegal in Thailand.

It is not only "lefties" that want a full investigation about the Russian influence in the recent U.S. election. It's already well confirmed that the Russians were involved on multiple levels. It's already well confirmed that there are many "smoky" connections between the trump family and people close to the trump business and campaign to various Russian entities. Of course, it is not yet know whether or not there was any direct COLLUSION between the trump campaign and Russian entities. Most Americans would like to know the TRUTH about that. We need to keep our election system free of hostile foreign influence. I think all real patriotics would agree.
