Three detained for allegedly seditious letter

BANGKOK: -- THREE SUSPECTS accused of mailing seditious letters have been detained by the military for interrogation, deputy national police chief Pol General Srivara Ransibrahmanakul said yesterday.

 

However, no arrest warrants had been issued for the suspects, he said. 

Srivara added that that he did not know if the suspects would be handed over to police, while it was still unclear if the three had been involved with political groups. 

Complaints had been lodged against the suspects for allegedly violating Article 116, he said, adding that some of suspects hailed from the Northeast. Article 116 of the Criminal Code refers to sedition.

As is oh so typical of these petty little people currently running this country, deputy national police chief Pol General Ransibrahmanakul is all to keen to be the first to claim any kudos by announcing that three suspects have been accused of mailing seditious letters. However, when pressed for details about their identities or whereabouts, he quickly passed the buck saying it was an Army affair.

 

Meanwhile, another deputy (Prawit) also got into the act, telling us that any individual seen distributing leaflets (containing anti-government messages) would be immediately arrested, and that he would not tolerate acts of sedition that undermined national security.

 

In a country whose name means "Land of the Free" (https://is.gd/gIEnqm), it is laughable that Prawit tells us "...there were surveillance cameras everywhere that would help officers apprehend suspects".

 

Despite his bold assertion, events in August this year suggest otherwise !!!

No arrest warrant, but detained nevertheless by the military no less.

Meanwhile there are 100K or more people supporting ISIS and some sending funds but prayuth's ego takes priority.

We have this and in another thread the Minister of Justice says arresting a certain monk isn't worth the risk until a much delayed decision is actually made to charge him !

1 law for poor people, 1 law for senior monks who are making fools of the military government.

Anyone who believes Pawtwit needs their head read the man handles the truth carelessly

There may be cameras everywhere but how many of them actually work?   Oh, I must be more careful, as I just had a seditious thought!  Better not put it in writing.

They serve themselves, no one else. How doesn't everyone get this by now?

What the H is seditious anyways. Is it like being seduced, government sodomy (I think we have all felt this one), lightly bad or seriously bad or real bad. I must Google it as it looks like a serious word.
