Thai Registered Post Delivery Times within Bangkok?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Has anyone got experience of postal delivery times for a registered post envelope from a Post Office in Bangkok to an address in Bangkok please?

My online tracking still lists envelope as accepted at the Post Office more than 48 hours ago. I was thinking it would be delivered next day?

Cheers,

EMS  advertised as next day,  posted before 1 pm    Registered  up to 3 days

Actually registered can be longer if nobody home when they try to deliver and they have to make trip to post office to pick up themselves.

Ok 3 days. I sent my 90 day immigration report to Chaeng Wattana, and they ask for registered post method.

any post i have  sent ems/registered   with tracking number  has shown up on system within 2 hours

i suggest going to the office   with tracking number/receipt and start there

it would seem that either  it was not put on the system (human error)   or it is lurking around the dispatch area  yet to be processed   either way try to speak with the manager for better response   dont leave it too long

This is indeed unusual.

I recently sent a registered airmail to Europe (not EMS) from upcountry.

It took the same usual timing as previous EMS shipments.

Arrived Suvarnabhumi next afternoon.

If your shipment is still is in the "Accept" status(?) then rush to the office with the slip.

The two 90 day reports I have used registered mail for have been next day delivery here in Bangkok

Why not pay a motorcycle taxi 100 baht. It will get there in less then an hour .

Because the Thai immigration web site says it must be sent registered post?

I went back to the PO on Wednesday afternoon about 56 hours after I posted the document and the online status still showing as below since the moment I posted it. The PO staff says it takes 3-5 working days to deliver a letter within Bangkok by registered post!

Yes, the last and only other time I did a postal 90 day notice last year, I posted it Saturday morning and it was signed as delivered Monday morning so less than two working days. Using the same Post Office they tell me in now takes 3-5 working days for the same price.

It makes the schedule quite tight as I was hoping to do online 90 day report, found it didn't work so register posted the notice next day. It will now only arrive about 4 or 5 days before my 90 notice of stay in country in due, not sure if that is too late? The application TM47 is dated 14 days before notice due and I have the registered post date ticket to show them.

EMS is so cheap ! It's clearly the only smart way to send any letter or parcel in Thailand, Time to know.

Agree for shipment within Thailand (some 3x Baht for a letter).

To foreign countries it's a bit over the top.

I sent a signed application form and a photocopy of passport to a German bank. Registered is good enough for that.

Agree, but the Thai Immigration web site says 90 day reports "Must be sent by registered mail".
