Security beefed up at Wat Dhammakaya

 

 

BANGKOK: -- Security has been stepped up at Wat Dhammakaya in Pathum Thani province after the Office of the Attorney-General (OAG) has decided to indict the abbot of the temple, Phra Dhammachayo, as recommended by the Department of Special Investigation.

 

Reporters who were despatched to the temple following the OAG’s decision reported that security guards manning checkpoints stopped and inspected every car that entered the temple’s ground.

 

Some reporters tried to get into the temple were turned back and told to get a clearance from communication officials of the temple.

 

Followers of the temple continued to arrive at and leave the temple as normal without any unusual activity.

 

The OAG has decided to indict Phra Dhammachayo and four former executives of the Klongchan Credit Union Cooperatives.

My advice to the people going in for the arrest; make sure you have about 10 times more army and law personnel, etc than there are followers of the temple. This way there's a chance you could get through the first door or the temple. 

 

Afer that? Hope they don't offer too much (if any) resistance.

Just arrest this idiot and anyone who tries to block the arresting officers. They're not even real monks anyways, I fail to see any real problems here except lots and lots of corrupt and disingenuous people making a complete spectacle of themselves

I hope some of the people posting on this forum that appear to be supporting this lawless scumbag are proud of themselves, it is attitudes like yours that has this country exactly were it is - mob rule that has plagued Thailand for decades - my gang is bigger richer and more powerful than yours so we can break the law and do as we please....we are also rich because we launder money thieve from the people and do generally illegal things at will and nobody can stop us because we have so much money we can pay for protection.

 

The authorities need to arrive at this place seal and secure the perimeter preventing any more people gaining access - then make it clear that they are going to advance in number with riot police and army and anyone that obstructs them will be arrested and detained without bail and receive the maximum prison term possible..................lets see if the 500baht they are being paid is worth 2 years in prison.

 

No more messing around - time to play hardball, this man is facing serious criminal charges and needs to be arrested

They are, however, the delusional sentiments of a Westerner with his strange foreign ideas about morality and decency.

 

There is no war against corruption, mob rule or what you consider to be immoral in Thailand.  There is no intellectual/philosophical/political ideal present that would promote such a thing.  Where it does exist it is crushed.

 

There is only a war against the corruption (profit) of one faction by other factions who seek that profit for themselves.

 

The factions compete to use the mob as they please.

 

In the case of the Army faction it is it's own mob because of size, organisation and possession of weapons and hardware which make it very much more effective intimidating other mobs.

 

That's how they have held power for over 80 years.  That's why the place is a slum in terms of social-political development.  As is the situation in many underdeveloped countries with military rulers.

 

They wrap themselves in the flag but they are the biggest thugs, the worst exploiters, the ugliest mob in the country.

The cleansing of Thailand needs to be done, none of the numerous past elected governments have had any  interest in tackling Thailands problems - in fact they have been center stage in the propagation of division and corruption, it has been going on for decades and is deep routed, from what I can see steps are being taken and only time will prove me right

The biggest concern with that plan of attack might be from what was learned in recent law enforcement encounters where negative images have surfaced and the potential of any tourist flying over top to arrive at BKK also having a smartphone.

It could have a very negative impact on being considered ideal for a medical tourist hub.

What an utterly twisted view of current events in Thailand!! I respect that fact that you are entitled to an opinion but it would be admirable if you were to checkthe reality of the situation before posting your opinion as fact.
