US Green candidate Jill Stein seeks presidential recount in key states

 

 

WASHINGTON: -- The Green Party’s candidate in the US presidential election is prepared to ask for recounts in key states, according to her team.

 

Jill Stein says there’s “compelling evidence of voting anomalies” and has appealed for funds to challenge results in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

 

The Guardian reported that she had already raised the two million dollars necessary to file for a recount in Wisconsin.

 

Academics and activists say they’re concerned that foreign hackers may have interfered with election systems. The US government said it saw no evidence on election day. Another expert who’s studied election systems has said a cyberattack was unlikely.

 

The pleas for recounts have gained no support from Hillary Clinton’s campaign. It has agreed with experts that even a long and expensive review would be highly unlikely to change the result.

 

The Democratic candidate won some two million more votes than Donald Trump but lost under the Electoral College system.

If they do find widespread miscounting or systemic hacking affected the results, it could lead to wider implications.  Even nullification of the results.

Good for her, a recount will expose the dead voters, the illegal immigrant voters, the bussed around multi voters, and the voting machines that registered democrat when the republican candidate was touched. Winners here are definitely more votes for Stein ..and Trump !

If she did not run to be President. Most of her votes would have gone to Clinton. And Clinton would has won.

Playing with  the machines in a few key states is much easier than what you suggest.

There is no doubt that the  electoral process has historically been corrupt over the years. Whether it was the ballot box stuffing in   Cook County, or  New Jersey, or vote buying in the US South or the  denial of voting rights to visible minorities and the poor  through some state voter id requirements, the USA has had its own dalliance with 3rd world behaviour. 

I would not be surprised if the Russians interfered and meddled.

Wouldn't it be funny if they did a recount and neither candidate had 270 electoral votes.

The only incident of actual voter fraud I saw recorded was fascist/racist voter voting twice. Voter fraud is a fraud, voter suppression of minorities by the right wing is for real. Voter fraud is another lie perpetuated by the right wing to stir up the racists.
