I Want To Live In Thailand

Featured Replies

I'm 40 years old. I'm going to marry a Thai girl. I have 2,000,000 Baht in the bank, but no monthly income. I'd like to stay in Thailand with my future wife until my money runs out, then go back to the USA and make more money. Then go back to Thailand. Repeat. Is this possible? I'm confused about the visa rules. I thought I only needed 400,000 baht in the bank to get a one year marriage visa (in which case, I easily qualify). Now I hear, you need 40,000 baht/month income (in which case I won't qualify). Please help me understand. Thanks!

As I answered you in the other thread you require a family income of 40k per month for an extension of stay. There is no longer an option to use 400k bank deposit for new applications.

Lopburi3 is correct 100%

Lop and Sunbelt are of course correct, you do have another option though.

Buzz down to KL and get a multi-entry non-o visa (on the grounds of visiting Thai spouse). This will net you a 90 day stay on arrival, you just have to do a border hop every 90 days, time it right and you can get 15 months in The Kingdom with just 4 border hops.

Rinse and repeat as required. :o

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I also gave him that option. He has asked the same question 3 times now.
