BANGKOK, 28 November 2016 (NNT) – The Deputy Prime Minister led high-ranking officials and tour operators to attend a Tourism Road Show in China, clarifying laws on the suppression of illegal tour businesses and to enhance the Thai tourism industry.

Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Thanasak Patimapragorn, Tourism and Sports Minister KorpKan Watthanawarangura and Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor Yutthasak Suphasorn led a team of high-ranking officials and Thai tour operators to attend the "Quality Tourism Road Show to Chengdu" in Chengdu and Chongqing, China, from 27 November until 1 December.

One of the main objectives to attending this road show was to clarify Thailand’s measures to suppress illegal tour businesses, which will help prevent tourists from being exploited by tour operators.

The business trip will also push forward Thailand’s wish to enhance the country’s tourism industry to attract quality tourists.

When is the govt going to bin this ' quality tourist ' nonsense because it's a non-starter ?

In China, for example, if they mean people with big money they need to realize, but probably won't or won't want to, that such tourists will not travel to LoS they'll go to the world's top destinations, shop in the original designer stores etc. and on return home get the face that having done so brings.

A trip here doesn't even start to compare.

A road show to China to let them know who's boss when it comes to tourism in Thailand.

So don't send us your low class zero dollar tourists that we can't screw over. We only want the ones with plenty of money that can help make us richer.

That should go down well.
