Hello Thai Visa Forum

Featured Replies

How are you everybody?

The forum is looking so fresh..... .nice...nice......

Wondering about something......i did some research and i found that it is very complicate for a thai person (man-woman) to travel around the world for personal purpose as a tourist......a traveller...

point is .... if you have a GF...and you know ...the wedding shit...is nonsense in that actual society...too much trouble and future is unknown ...so ...as a GF or even just as a friend.....to be able to just like that go anywhere we want to for a short or long time ..... it seem like not all of the people i've known had a passport and the fund to go travelling.

Then there is the issue of VISA ...seems complicate for them to have one...and they probably require that person to sow some proof of bank account ..right ?

My question is .... rich people ..rich thai probably have easy way to get a passport to go anywhere they want right ?

So for the modest ones.....how does it work ? does there is anyway way to get a chance to go somewhere without waiting 6 months for a visa or something like that ?

that's something i feel kinda curious to know more .....

Let me know!

Khrap!

Thai's have the right to visa free travel to Asean countries so travel in the region is not a huge problem for them, providing they can show good reason, have enough money and don't look like they're going to overstay and work illegally.

Travel further afield is also not difficult, either as part of a tour group or independently, providing the above criteria is met. Thinking about the flights I've taken recently, short and long haul, all have been loaded with Thai people travelling for one reason or another.

Welcome to the Nonimmigrant Visa Homepage!

Thank you for your interest in traveling to the United States. We hope that this website makes it easier for you to select and apply for the proper nonimmigrant visa.

Nonimmigrant visas (also called visitor or tourist visas) are required for all citizens of countries not under the Visa Waiver Program who intend to enter the United States temporarily for business, tourism or study. The type of nonimmigrant visa you will need and the requirements to apply for that kind of visa depend largely on your purpose of travel to the United States.

To help understand which visa category you need, you can click HERE. Enter your passport nationality and your purpose of visit.

The Embassy provides step-by-step guidance on how to apply for a nonimmigrant visa and schedule your interview. You will find the instructions HERE (PDF 281KB).

For additional detailed information related to U.S. nonimmigrant visas, required documents, and the application process, please visit: www.ustraveldocs.com/th. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the U.S. Visa Service desk at [email protected]or call the call center Monday-Friday during 8:00-20:00 (except holidays).

Important Announcements

The Embassy strongly encourages intending travelers to apply for visas well in advance of their proposed travel, and to refrain from making irrevocable travel plans until they have received their passports with visas. Please note that there are no visa appointments on Thai and U.S. holidays.

for the USA .........

you still have to schedule and prepare for the trip a long time in advance....can't plan something for near by future..... kinda sad :(

You've posted the requirements for France and even then for a person who intends to work - tourist travel which is what you specified in the OP is far easier.

I do not believe that a Thai cannot visit France as a tourist, that simply can't be true.

If nothing else they can get a tourist visa for another EU country and then get a shengen visa for travel to France.

it is possible...but it is very complicate.....

Example about France...i know there is option to fraud and stay longer by going to ITALY...there is many options but all seems very much complicate.

If you plan to go to europe the next month with your GF...can you do it ? i mean the next month ? can you fix all the requires information to do so for a travel next month ?

The links from wikipedia....shows the complication and the requires to a visa ...

So ..."CHIANG MAI" you said Tour Group ..can be interesting but not really....

they don't need a visa for travel to japan per example...

must check the list of the country that doe not need them to acquire a visa first.....

You've changed your question from the OP.

Firstly, any Thai person can get a passport, there are no restrictions, just apply, pay the fee and it will be issued.

Second, you now seem to be talking about you and your Thai friend AND travel at short notice to a country where a visa is required, that is dooable and entirely possible IF you have enough money to front the trip and satisfy the Embassy on this point.

Being a Thai person and travelling is not that much different from being a national of many countries. Many countries require travellers to have visa's, proof of income and support etc, Thailand is not unique in this respect. I think the problem here is that as a European you are granted visa free travel to a range of countries, Thai travellers and many others don't have that same luxury.
