POLICE yesterday charged the acting abbot of Wat Dhammakaya in Pathum Thani province with harbouring fugitive abbot Phra Dhammachayo.

Police are expected to serve a search warrant for Phra Dhammachayo in the temple because the authorities have already spent a lot of time trying to negotiate his surrender, said Pol Maj-General Worapong Thongpaiboon, acting commander of the Natural Resources and Environment Crime Division, said.

The acting abbot has been charged but isn't in custody and up to three summons will be issued which if not answered will see an arrest warrant being sought. With all that's happening do they really expect this monk is going to show up ?

Looks like 14 companies of police will now needed to be on standby but Buddha only knows what for and for how long.

If the junta, BIB and DSI deliberately set out to make absolute fools of themselves they couldn't do a better job.

Acting abbot charged with harbouring :cheesy:

Here we go again, more stupid nonsense trying to divert attention from their pathetic efforts of trying/not trying to arrest Dhammachyo.

Keep it up please following this farce is better than watching  tv or movies.

someone is bigger than the A44 fish.

He added the police were not unduly worried and would perform their duties as required by law.

Isn't that a bit like arrest him ?

Not ask him to come voluntarily on so many occasions.

Clearly the " noun " use of acting here

"police were not unduly worried and would perform their duties as required by law. "  Well preformed as usual :clap2:

Seriously?...........and what of those harbouring corrupt officials and hiso criminals?

I foresee that this abbot too, will either do a runner or try to hide somewhere and than

the authorities will have people they're trying to apprehend now,

where will it end no body knows....

Soap opera coming soon      the headlines for the show

The circus rolls on getting bigger and better all the time. Now they have doubled their embarrassment by having to try and arrest two of them. The entertainment value doesn't get any better than this.

What's likely to come first, the arrest of theses monks or a General Election. ?

Answers please in very simple language to the PM c/o Junta HQ.

So when the deputy abbott disappears there will be three more summonses issued to the acting deputy; then the acting deputy deputy and so on ad infinitum.

shows how truly pathetic the police and legal system are in Thailand, they are just making bigger fools of themselves by allowing this corrupt monk and his accomplices to dictate terms and refuse to obey the laws that apply to all thai people. Is it any wonder that Thailand is the laughing stock of the rest of the world with their keystone cops and the way they refuse to do what they are paid for, much easier to make garbage statements and hide in the office than actually go out and arrest criminals, the law in Thailand is a complete joke.

No sh*t Sherlock.

Well if the good Abbott  Dhammachyo goes down for the count his replacement is waiting in the wings.

:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

:sorry: it's the best I can do given the circumstances !

"...He added the police were not unduly worried and would perform their duties as required by law..."

Of course they are not worried, they are simply Keeping Up Appearances !!!

Just got to the main gate and try to go in.  First person that stops you into the back of the van.  Ten minutes later van full.  Off to the lockup to be charged with obstructing police.  Second vehicle same...but takes 20 minutes to fill...third van....takes longer.  Then they realise there are consequences.  No more resisting.

You couldn't make this up TIT

Any date and time set for the negotiations regarding his arrest? I may take a day off to watch this episode.

time to call in Dirty Harry alias Inspector Calahan

More likely snow in Pattaya...

If this was a potential tv/movie script it would be thrown out the door as totally implausible, except perhaps in just one place!

There must be more to this than police cowardice, are the envelopes being passed through the fence? Is there a resort waiting for a new owner, a new retiree? :wai:
