quickest way to send money from uk to thailand

Featured Replies

good morning,
My son is returning from thailand and I need to send money quickly to thailand so that he can be home for christmas,
Can anyone please advise on the quickest method, perhaps 24 hours for the money to reach thailand.
Thank you

If speed is your only concern then Western Union is close to instantaneous. Whether you get a good FX rate is a different question

If your son has a Thai bank account you can do a direct transfer from your bank to his Thai bank account. it should be in his bank account the same day but Thai banks regularly hold up payment here for 7 days

SWIFT to a Thai bank usually takes 2 working days total, never had a Thai bank hold any money !

Unless your son has access to a Thai bank account, Western Union or Moneygram are your best bets, although the exchange rates are not the best.

2 transfers of 250K aud in 2 years one to scb and one to bb both held by banks for 7 days

Previous smaller amounts 50K aud transferred were not held up

Western Union has no hiccups, banks can...
