Udon Thani And Vientiane

Featured Replies

Hi,

Im heading upto Udon thani and Vientiane shortly for a new visa, planning on spending a few days and nights in each. Any advise on places to go, and people to see - Day/Nightime would be greatly appriciated. I aint in a wheelchair yet, so almost any activity is good..

Is there go-go bars or ladys bars etc in either.. Names of the areas would be good?

Also recommendations of good hotels in tha prime locations and tha best place to book em wouldnt go amiss.

Cheeeers :o

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR GENERAL INFORMATION - SO IT DOESNT NEED MOVING!!

suggest KhonKaen for a base and drive to vietenne is only 3 hours drive, less if my wife drives :o .

read the posts and get an idea of the sort of things available. It even has advice for visa runs.

When in Udon Thani, I always stay at the Ban Chiang Hotel. One of the top three hotels in the area and room w/ breakfast should go for around 1000-1100 THB per night. Dont know about ladies of the night there but if your into golf, they have a course there that is right next to an Army base and nobody ever plays there. Not very expensive. Not much else to do there as far as i'm concerned.

When in Vientiane, if you like Italian food, try L'Opera in the circle by the non-working fountain. Good stuff.

Have fun!!
