Ok, I was able to re-book my bus ticked (10%fee) for one day later and added one night more to the hotel.

Can anyone confirm that the consulate is open on Thursday 29th to Friday 30th December? Thanx.

After the 12th there are no more holidays this month.

Next holiday will be the 2nd and possibley the 3rd of January.

For future visits go to the consulate website, they have a calendar with the closed days clearly marked.

Savannakhet's calendar still shows holidays for 2015. Best to use the embassy in Vientiane calendar.  http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/en/embassy/calendar.php

Confirmed what i thought.

Just a simple question. I just came back from the consulate. They accepted my visa application. So far so good. Plenty of people in the queue. Tomorrow I should pick up my passport at 2pm. Should I go already 2 hours earlier to be in front of the queue? Or is it a quick process? Because, my bus will depart at 6.30 pm from mukdahan. Thanks and greetings from Savannakhet.

I was there a couple of weeks ago.

 

Collecting your passport is usually a quick process.  Arrive say 30m before the gate opens.

 

You will have no problem arriving at Mukdahan bus terminal before 18.30hrs, in fact, you will have time for a meal.

I got my visa. After a metv from my home country and a Setv from Vientiane. No questions asked, no red or blue stamps. And the visa was for free.
