Attn Sunbelt + Visa Experts, Non Immigrant Ed Visa

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm asking this for a good friend of mine who came in from Canada on a single entry non-immigrant type B visa. He came in on Sept. 24 and his visa expires on Dec. 22. He went to immigration today and they told him that because of his single entry visa that he can only do one run to Cambodia for a 30 day stamp. He wantst to stay longer so immigration told him to go to Laos to try for a one year non-immigrant ED visa, which would take 2-3 days to process. They said that he'd need a letter from the school he's going to outlining what he's taking and how long the courses will take. He wants to try getting letters from my Muay-Thai school and a SCUBA shop for multiple courses.

1) Will this be enough?

2) Any other recommendations for travel to Laos?

3) Would Penang be a better idea? (more favourable than Laos?)

4) How much do you think this will cost? (they didn't know at imm.)

5) Any other options to extend his stay in TH?

6) What's the longest you think he can stay in the country?

Thanks again for all your help.
