BANGKOK, 13 December 2016 (NNT) - The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs has led a delegation to the People’s Republic of China to sign a Letter of Intent (LOI) with e-commerce giant Alibaba for the strengthening of Thai small and medium enterprises (SME) in line with the Thai government's Thailand 4.0 agenda.

Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak led representatives of the Thai private and public sector to the Alibaba Group Head Office in Hangzhou of China at the invitation of its President Jack Ma.

The Ministry of Commerce and Alibaba have signed an LOI to strengthen Thai SMEs in four capacities, namely e-commerce, personnel training for digital technology, logistics and supply chain development, and investment in the Eastern Economic Corridor.

Somkid said he is confident that Thai SMEs will benefit from this new cooperation and that it will satisfy the government’s Thailand 4.0 agenda.

Would have thought they could have signed that via an email to save the trip...

Alibaba will save the world. And Thai's are one of many countries fool enough to believe it.
