BANGKOK, 19 December 2016 (NNT) – The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior explained the government's solution to the issue of stateless persons, in accordance with the cabinet’s resolution on 7 December 2016.

Interior Ministry Permanent Secretary Grisada Boonrach disclosed that the cabinet had approved the draft law issued under the Nationality Act, which states that the children of all groups of migrant born in Thailand can live in Kingdom without prosecution regardless of their parents' status.

The rights the children possess will be in accordance with the rights of the father or mother, as long as the child's presence is not a threat to national security, or could incite public disorder, or against good social norms.

Confusing article. If the the parents are undocumented migrant workers and subject to deportation, the children can stay in Thailand if there parents are deported. What are the rights of the children to attend school, etc.?

I suppose it means children of migrants can stay with their parent/parents; just read "status" in para. 2 as "status as migrants", and "rights" in para. 3 as "rights as migrants". I guess "status animarum" means they get officially registered as resident along with their parents.
