kellettgs
Does anyone have any information on what to do if you received the wrong visa? In the US I applied for an ED Visa but the consulate in Atlanta gave me a B visa. I am not to here to work... What are my options? I am here to live and learn the language and be here a long time... Can I get a reentry permit? Edited December 21, 2016 by kellettgs
PoorSucker
Is it multiple (M) visa or single (S) visa? Anyway you can study on any kind of visa.
elviajero
If you've already used the visa there is nothing you can do about changing it. You should be able to get an extension of stay based on your language course as you've entered with a non-immigrant visa. You can get a re-entry permit for 1,000 baht if you want to leave the country and keep the remainder of your 90 day visa entry alive.
kellettgs
It is a single entry visa. I have already used it. My concern with an B visa is I cannot get the proper paper work since I do not have a job. I like the idea of trying for an extension. By keeping the 90 days alive do you mean getting another 90 days? Thanks for all the help
pbassham
I would be curious if you could get a re-entry permit on your single entry B visa, so you could do border runs for this year, and then get an ED visa when it expires. Just don't know about rentries on a single entry visa.
PoorSucker
You can get a extension based on education on your NON-B. You can get re-entry permit on every entry, even a visa exempt stamp. Re-entry permit only keeps your original entry alive, you will not gain any new days.
