Whatever Happened to Doing Things Like a Human?
Lemme get this straight, once upon a time, yeah, you’d clock someone sittin’ in the park with a sketchpad, feet up, not a care in the world except maybe which biscuit to dunk next. Now? You so much as pull out any piece of paper in public and someone thinks you’ve escaped from a mindfulness retreat. Used to be we did things. Proper things. Wrote letters, read words longer than four syllables, spoke to mates without it bein’ some digital hostage negotiation done in twenty text bubbles and four “yo, u there?” pings. Now it’s all eyes glued to glass screens, doom scrollin', suckin’ in rubbish like pigeons round a dropped bag of crisps. Mate’s havin’ an existential breakdown? Don’t ring him. Nah, just send a sad-face emoji and tag him in a meme about trauma bonding. Sorted. Journals? Nah bruv, it’s “content creation and social media monetization” now just record yourself scribblin’ thoughts next to a candle, colored mood lighting hitting your back wall and some fake ferns while whisperin’ affirmations like a budget monk in a Westfield loo cause everyone is an "influencer building their own personal brand" now, innit. Used to go down the pub and argue about footy with some bloke who smelled like pickled eggs. Now it’s just TikTok soundbites and reels by absolute wrong’uns with usernames like “TruthSeeker69” and a filter that makes ’em look like a cartoon lizard. Nobody remembers anything either. You ask someone for directions now and they stare at you like you’ve just asked how to reinvent fire. “Use the map app, matey” they say, like it’s some magic spell passed down through ancient tech wizards. And hobbies? What bloody hobbies? Build a shed? Paint a thing? Learn guitar? Nah, they’d rather pay £60 for a bean-shaped plushie that “heals your inner child” because Sharon from YouTube said it changed her aura. It’s like the whole planet’s gone soft in the head, buzzin’ off brain rot and dopamine squirts every time their phone pings. Anyway, I’m off to sit under a tree with a cuppa and an actual book. Not for the ’Gram, not for some ‘grounding’ exercise. Just to remember what it felt like to be a human and not bein' just another walking screen with legs. -

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
You can interpret whatever, in which ever manner you wish. No-one, especially not me, is arguing against certain incomes only being taxable in home Country. This is a fact. My contention, yet again, is that foreigners, who are Thai tax residents comply with the Revenue code. Section 40 TRD Black and white according to Thai Tax Law. Pensions are assessable income. By dint of an International Agreement some forms are pensions are not taxable in Thailand as they are only taxable in Home Countries. Just as some Pensions will not be subject to Thai tax, depending on tax already paid in Home Country. -

The worst thing I see on Thai roads
This happens all the time but they usually flash their lights to let you know to slow down and move off the road as they will not let you stay on the road while they pass the parked car and will not slow down or stop. The other one that happens all the time is they move to your side of the road on right hand turns in the road, rather than stay on their side they cut the corner because its easier for them, I have had to swerve several times over the years to avoid a head on, they will use the other lane(s) on roads to cut corners rather than slow down even on multi lane highways. They also do this if there is a puddle of water on their side of the road, they just swerve to your side to go around it with no indicator or slowing down, lost a mirror to one that did it, they just kept driving and never stopped, the thai mentallity is they can do what ever they please on the roads and everyone else has to let them, even motor bike riders have the same mind set but this is Thailand so its to be expected another reason my wife drives most times -

MIni Projectors?
I'm probably going to be moving to a bigger place, and I saw these and thought it might be fun for movies or whatever. You can buy special fabric screens that can be attached to a wall with adhesives (won't damage the wall) and the sizes I've seen extend up to 150 inches. And not much money. Less than $25, with a slight variation price, depending on the size. So, you mount the unit on a tripod or maybe place it on a table, and so long as it has a power source, you're good to go. The picture adjusts and focuses automatically. With the available wi-fi or Airplay, it can play anything I'm playing on my Apple TV. The sound can come from my system speakers, or, the thing has a small, built-in speaker. For people using a TV stick type gadget, it'll accept one of those. Or, inputs from HDMI or USB. I guess the only limitation you might have is finding a suitable place for a screen. One of the one's I've looked at can even be mounted a tripod, with the picture projected to your white ceiling, if you have one. It all sounds like fun. There's no way I would buy a 120" TV, but one of these things? Why not? -

Starmer’s Brexit Reset: A Strategic Shift or a Sacrifice?
No1: UK can't tackle the problem without EU. So Starmer is doing the right thing to work together to stop illegal immigration. No2: In a economical downturn it's impossible to reduce unemployment. No3 and followed; Thank to Trump's erratic "politics" Starmer ties bonds with Europe since he lost his trust in this uneducated weirdo in America. Actually most European countries have similar problems which can be solved only together.
