Cabinet to consider project for three main working plans to be implemented next year

BANGKOK: -- THE “front command” team, led by Deputy Defence Minister General Udomdech Sitabutr, will submit its road map to the Cabinet on Tuesday, according to team secretary Panu Uthairat.

The road map will help stop violence in the deep South next year as per the government’s goal, Panu told the press after the delegation’s meeting yesterday with related agencies at the Defence Ministry in Bangkok.

The head of the Committee to Mobilise Policy and Strategy to Solve Problems in the Southern Border Provinces’ Front Command Office, General Suthat Jarumanee, said the road map had seven working plans, including national security, development and public understanding.

Victory!

The Junta can withdraw martial law and pull armed forces out of the Southern provinces.

I hope the road map comes with instructions. "Please turn right side up to read"

.... Please turn right side up the road pass the blue house and stop next to the motorcycle with 3 gas bottles, when you hear a mobile phone ring take cover. Sorry a bad joke.

With high up people making billions from human trafficking, drug, oil and endangered species smuggling through the south what is the chance of this war ever ending. Thailand is in a similar situation as Angola in the 80's and 90's where the war was about diamonds and enriching the war lords. For those who want proof of what I said, the closes human trafficking camp was 200 m away from a army camp. How was it possible for the army not to know about this camp. In the deep south there are army patrols and road blocks everywhere everyday, how could thousands of trafficked people be smuggled pass the army without them knowing? As a sheep taken to slaughter one ex army high ranking advisor was sacrificed. War enrich some while many die.

A good question.

But apparently the army isn't asking any such questions from Lt. Gen. Manus Kongpan, a former ISOC Commander and NCPO aide to Prayut, who was arrested in 2015 as a kingpin (sic) in human trafficking, illegal detention and ransoming. Manus has been in military custody ever since hi sarrest but he has not yet been prosecuted by military or criminal courts.

This type of trading has been going on since the 70's when there was money to be made by buying and selling precious stones from Cambodia and there was the rumoured drug links between Thailand/golden Triangle and the CIA. Old habits die hard.

what is a "Defence" minister?

Member of Prayut's Cabinet. Currently Defense Minister is General Prawit Wongsuwon, who is also Deputy Prime Minister. Udomdech is also Secretary-General of the NCPO led by Chief Prayut. Practically speaking, the Front Command is the NCPO.
