POLICE yesterday filed another 15 charges against Dhammakaya Temple in Pathum Thani’s Klong Luang district.

Combined with 158 previously filed charges, the total number now stands at 173 cases, most of which were for buildings erected without permission.

The temple claims structures in its vast compound were for religious purposes and were thus exempt from having to seek permission under the Building Act.Yesterday afternoon a handful of Muang Tha Khlong Municipality officials put up notices saying “Criminal evidence: do not use, move or damage” at the temple’s buildings, while temple lawyer Thatchanon Pornbaiyok and disciples looked on.Many police complaints have been filed against the controversial temple recently as the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and police were ready to carry out a search to arrest its fugitive former

abbot Phra Dhammachayo.

Here we go again more charges.

The brainless buggers keep filing charges, but are unwilling/ unable to do anything about them  :cheesy:

I am sure the folk at the temple are quaking in their boots.

Please keep it up, getting my daily dose of laughter from this farce.

What's the point of issuing more charges and more indictments if you can't

bring any of the to bear on the accused? this situation become a farce

already and all the authorities are doing are cooking more charges.....

Burn the place down, then the only issue is 'whodunnit' ?

The PM spin doctor can easily answer that, blame someone else, as usual.

The saga continues......

Being built on a prayer and an amulet makes the structure automatically disaster-proof, and that includes the plumbing!

I keep laughing at this saga, not sure what will come first, elections or the conclusion of this charade...

when are we going to see some one with authority enforce this, all they are doing is playing hot potato with all the crap at the moment. When push comes to shove everyone seems to run and hide rather than follow the requirements of the law, totally pathetic but what we have come to expect from Thailands law enforcement, they all lack the balls to do the right thing.

Don't expect any new developments for the next few days as it will be closed for Christmas...

can you charge a building?  BIB and DSI got better chance arresting that than doing the arresting of the monk  ?

What's Next lol. TIT

Throw the book at them and they might use it for toilet paper....

How can the temple be charged with anything? It is the person, or persons,  responsible for any wrong doing. Why the temple, it is inanimate  and has done nothing

 How about arresting the criminals!

What!  DON'T TELL ME THE HEAD MONK IS A CLOSET CHRISTIAN!

173 charges in total....55555 This should take about 6 years and by then the parties in question will be dead...Case closed. 'Till then, I'll go stock up on more popcorn and beer...!

More charge sheets, warrants etc so no shortage of wallpapers for someone's office as they'll never be actually used.

Just think the PM and pals are simply allowing this to happen and the reasons are pretty clear.

This has become  the laughing stock of Thailand and the world. Just unbelievable.
