MOI drives forward village projects

BANGKOK, 26 December 2016 (NNT) – The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has delivered 18 billion baht to accounts funding 8.2 thousand village projects nationwide, says a spokesman.

Ministry of Interior Spokesman Chayapol Titisak has said regarding the MOI’s Pracharat local economy boosting village projects in the 2017 fiscal year, running from 9 December 2016 to 31 January 2017, that during the campaign's second week it has transferred a total of 18.66 billion baht to 82,271 projects in 74,655 villages.

Each village will receive a 250,000 baht budget to strengthen regional projects in compliance to the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy. The most common proposals are public benefit projects such as infrastructure development, and economic and occupational promotion projects such as community barn renovations.

The government intends to create more jobs and opportunities at the local level and develop grassroots economies with participation from the community to directly yield concrete benefits to local people, said the spokesman.

I expect Prayut will do this again just before the 2017/2018 (who really knows what year) elections.

To remind people who their benefactor is.

At first I read MOU instead of MOI as it seems every month there's an MOU - Minster Of Understanding
