Mother and daughter attacked and forcibly drowned in Pattalung

PATTALUNG: -- A mother and her daughter on the way home from a New Year party in a village were set upon by at least six youths and forcibly drowned in southern Thailand.

 

Police in the Pa Born district are trying to establish if the 13 year old victim was also raped by the gang, reports Sanook.

 

Found dead in the water of a ditch near their abandoned motorcycle were 54 year old Aree and her daughter Wansiri, 13.

 

Aree had been hit over the back of the head before she was drowned. Her daughter was found 100 meters away and was also drowned using force.

 

The bodies were found by a member of the public.

 

Mother and daughter had been out at a New Year party in a village three kilometers from their house and were set upon on a lonely stretch of road late at night on their way home, said police.

 

The bodies were sent for autopsy in Hat Yai and DNA was being gathered from the victims to get a lead in the case and to see whether the daughter had been raped before she was drowned.

 

Police said they are looking for at least 6 youths but did not give any other details about an apparent motive for the crime.

What is happening in this Country? There is so much senseless violence, raping and rampant drug use. Is there NO EDUCATION? Seems to be getting worse here.

Reading this just ruined my day completely.

What religion involved?  The religion of being a moron.  To try to indicate that this may have a religious context is at best pathetic.  Youths attacking and raping girls is rife all over Thailand and most of the time goes unreported.

Religious grounds may well be the basis of the attack. Hopefully these scum get caught and we find out or better still a lynch mob.
