BANGKOK: -- THE ANTI-MONEY Laundering Office (AMLO) has found that an unnamed female politician transferred Bt46 million to the bank account of Wichai Panngam, who is wanted for allegedly leading a major loan-shark gang, a source at AMLO revealed yesterday.

As part of the investigation into the Thailand-based group allegedly controlled by Wichai, which had Bt150 million in assets seized last week, AMLO found financial transactions linked to the female politician, the source added.

AMLO has concluded the politician wired the Bt46 million to Wichai’s bank account in 2012, possibly in connection to the alleged money-lending business and its money-laundering activities.

Hard to battle corrupt government officials with corrupt government officials. LOL

The can of worms is open.

Corruption starts at the top than slowly works down the chain of command.

Female politician only the first of many.

"it's not just me,  everyone dose it",,,    Hmmm sounds just like a junta leader's brother when he and his son was caught, huh?

Actually, this was an old excuse heard in court back in the early 2000s... those rich gardeners and maids...

555 you must be joking, they have swept many cases under the carpet which involved their friends. The appointment of friends and family by NLA members, corruption park, the human trafficing in the south where trafficing camps was within 200 m of army camps the non transparent approval of oil and gas blocks, the infrastructure projects being bulldozed through under S44, the trail of opponents in military courts, the new cyber law etc.

So an ex-politician(always a politician in mindset) is allegedly involved in illegal activities, is anyone surprised by this? Without naming names, this will easily be swept under the carpet, perhaps with the help of a few envelopes, and business will continue as usual

"the infrastructure projects being bulldozed through under S44" = reclaiming the beaches and forest land on which people illegally build structures and made a lot off money by doing so

"the trail of opponents in military courts" = people are prosecuted for illegal activities

They paid the farmers who hadn't been paid for a year (didn't get money for over 6 months BEFORE the banks blocked payments)

No more bombs and destruction by a bunch of lunatics.

I'm sure this alleged corruption can be agreeably worked out.

And will soon close when they found out that the senior RTP officers were involved.

That was very much old school. Now you can blatantly corrupt and warn others to mind their own business.

I see. Your idea on corruption has both old and new schools?

Who would have thought there may be a politician or 2 involved in this loan shark business

After all they appear to be very honest people    :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

Who's next the police  :shock1:

I am surprise that you don't see the difference or maybe just denial and still thinking these are the good people who can corrupt knowing no one can touch them. If the heat gets too close, just find a way to get rid of them. Or better whisk those nosy meddlers away for AA and just arrest them for trying to visit the site of the corruption.

did those thousand cops/army personnel catch that ABBOT yet, ? Nah, thought not , peed myself laughing

No. I don't see any difference. Whether it was Ferdinand Marcos, Gaddafi, or Thaksin, the roads lead down the same destination.

The article doesn't say ex.

Your answer much anticipated. Let's hope some of the military generals and police chiefs will end in the same destination too.

Are there currently any politicians. Unless they are refering to those currently involved in politics.

"Poly" meaning many and "tics" meaning blood sucking parasites

If more politicians are involved of which I have no doubt watch for "operation cover up"

We live in an age of morphing.

I would go with the beast like. Governments have isolated us so that we only worry about the inner self. Together we stand divided we fall.

I hold to a more religious cause to morphing towards beast-like. Man is now worshipping the Golden Calf rather than God.

The farmers could get paid because the civil servants refused to issue bonds to obtain the money to pay the farmers. The land reclaimed are mostly from poor farmers and beach vendors. Please educate yourself about forest dwellers and how national parks was created in Thailand. Many of these evil forest encroachers are people that lived in these forests before government grabbed their land for national parks. They were promised replacement land which government never gave them. The few rich encroachers thats been removed are from the other side of the politics. There is nothing noble nor ethical in whats been done. As for the bombs and destruction the question remains who did it. For uneducated people its the redshirts for those long enough here it maybe smoke a mirrors. But enjoy your fake peace while it last, but be warned thats not reality.

Utter BS, in the south loads of very rich democrats have been evicted, likewise hotels and expensive restaurants at the beach front.

"could get paid because the civil servants refused to issue bonds to obtain the money to pay the farmers." read what you write it doesn't make sense at all.

"As for the bombs and destruction the question remains who did it. " on what planet do you live?
