I wonder how much assistance the huge crowd hanging around were able to give ?

Wonder also in accidents such as this, the onlookers actually slow down legitimate medical help getting to those injured ?

'Rubbernecking' is a factor in most accidents.

Not much by the looks of it. The explosion and fire was huge , and if I was told to stay away I would not act like a hero until it was safe to do so .
