Prayut presents song as moral support for Cabinet
By Anapat Deechuay

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha debuted his new song, “Sa Phan” (“Bridge”), on Wednesday to provide moral support to the Cabinet as it prepares for its workload this year.

The bridge in Prayut’s lyrics is a metaphor for the means to cross over obstacles and help the country achieve stability, prosperity and sustainability.

This guy has nothing else to do it seems... and this video has a clear "personality cult" tone.

They'll all be reaching for the Prozac.

What is their workload for this year, anything new?

This is my song in admiration for him sadly Prayut doesn't scan well in the lyrics

The PM is becoming more like Kim Jong-un by the day.

CBS reports that Kim "is fond of media moments showcasing his hands-on approach to governing"

Ring any bells?

That's really Good! Give up your day job!

It was more like a Karaoke version going like this:

"Like a Sa Phan over troubled water

I will lay me down..."

Bet they were thrilled at that.

He is in the wrong business. If only Thailand had talent or the voice was around 40 years ago he might of been the next Bird

Can't this man just collect stamps as a hobby like other people? His songs are truly atrocious and sleep-inducing. But perhaps that's their intent...

:bah:

I wish someone would convince him he is a great singer! It would be more fun!

The man is unstoppable... should do a rendition of "Drive me crazy" after the road toll this year.  Hit the top Thai 10.

Yes,no,maybe!

As a songwriter this guy would make a very good bus driver.

It's the king's new clothes, all his toadies tell him his songs are brilliant and the mug believes them. Probably thinks he's a great PM too.

I have not heard the song but I am sure the words failed him as well. Sounds like a remake of "A Bridge Over Troubled Waters" "Crocodile Tears" comes to mind as well. I hope there is one close to his bridge. They seem to be all over the place lately. What a Premiere snack.

Sorry Prayuth, it's a no from me.

But you could try the comedy club next door.

I think I'm having a "Simon Cowell moment". The kind of moment he makes them cry ! :vampire:

I know today it's not an accurate portrayal of Nero as apparently he didn't sing while Rome was burning but the older version certainly comes to mind here. While the PM is busy composing songs...well you can put the rest in yourself, Ha!

According to Wallop, Thailand’s automobile market could reach 850,000 units this year, a 10-per-cent jump from approximately 750,000 units expected for 2016.

Unfortunately for Wallop, an increase from 750000 to 850000 represents a 13.3% increase over 2016, so, if they are optimistically expecting a 10% increase, then 825000 is their target.

Maybe he could do a cover of " Keep death of the road , drive on the pavement "   Capability Brown , circa 1973 , look it up.

The man composes and sings songs then leads jazzercise every Wednesday.  What more can a country ask of its selfless, self appointed chieftain ?   His desire for celebrity knows no bounds.

Hahahaha...I just watched the "video" on mute! The same schmalzy BS, that could serve as a background for other songs (maybe the one playing at 1800?!) and similar to other songs about other people!
Had to turn it off, before my insulin ran out!

What a copycat! It has been done much better before..

Nothing wrong with a PM writing songs, even bad ones, nothing wrong even for a ret. general to do so. As it wouldn't be wrong for a PM or ret. general to sit in the forest to listen to the birds singing or so. So, no, IMHO no problem with that.

When I would be Thai, quod non, I could though eventually become slightly worried as the person in question here writes songs seemingly being convinced it is part of some superior mission he's got to bring happiness to the people of Thailand, understand: his personal vision of happiness, only that one, and that the person is a ret. general and a PM at the same time...

Not being a specialist in things of the human mind, I will not express any opinion about what could be happening inside a naked head exposed to the elements after having been for so many years protected by a cap or beret, but I wonder what some specialist in the matter, from outside Thailand of course, might have to tell about it...

A positive note though: mission accomplished for some part it could be, one must admit, as the already released songs have been at the origine of a lot of sound laughs among the population I have heard, and people who are laughing are mostly happy people, isn't it, so, bringing happiness to the people, after all...?

If you look way back at my posts you will see that I predicted this type of behaviour from our fearless leader

he is in love with himself, a classic narcissist, revelling in thr celebrity status of his self appointed role. There's no way this guy is going anywhere.

'bobmac10': Do your posts with this prediction of yours date from before the spring of 2014, maybe?
