webfact Posted January 4, 2017 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Officials digging for carcasses at Hua Hin elephant park Picture: Daily News HUA HIN: -- Officials from the national parks department and the military used three backhoes to look for elephant carcasses at a well known Hua Hin elephant park on Wednesday. The 100 strong party of officials acting on information found the remains of three dead elephants in two separate locations around the Moo Ban Chang facility. Moo Ban Chang is owned by prominent local businessman Prakorp Chamnankit, 52, and has been at the center of the illegal registration and use of elephants. No charges have yet been filed. Officials said that the search for more dead elephants would continue over several days. DNA samples are set to be taken from the dead animals today.
