Hi,

This is my first time posting on here so apologies in advance if this is the wrong section to ask or I forget something!

My partner and I are travelling in Thailand at the moment on Single-Entry Tourist Visas. At the end of the 90 days (we extended our visas) we are planning on coming to Cambodia for a week or so. Whilst we're in Cambodia we need to apply for new SETVs however we weren't planning on visiting Phnom Penh, we are thinking of just spending the week in and around Siem Reap. So I was just wondering whether anyone knows of a travel agent in Siem Reap that would be able to sort out our Thai tourist visas for us? Or do you think we are better off taking a few days out of our trip and heading to Phnom Penh and sorting it out with a travel agent there? We are British citizens with UK passports.

Thanks,

The hotel where I stayed sorted it out for me (Saem Siemreap Hotel). They knew an agent who got it back to me in three days. However, the Embassy initially wanted bank statements which I had not brought but an additional 10 USD fee alleviated that request lol. I suspect many hotels can do similar, maybe worthwhile emailing a few preferred hotels in advance and see if they are able to handle it for you. By the way, I can certainly recommend the Saem Siemreap, a really lovely hotel with very courteous and helpful staff. Indeed overall I really enjoyed my time in Siem Reap and found the people genuinely welcoming. One final pointer is that everything was denominated in USD so best to have plenty of dollars and no need to really bother with the Riel.

Thanks for the advice. Think the Saem Siemreap Hotel might be slightly out of our budget! But will try emailing some hotels this afternoon. Did you have to provide proof of onward travel?

No mention of onward travel was made by the agent but he did come back to me and said that the Embassy had wanted to see my bank statement which I did not have. However, an additional 10 USD seemed to cause that request to be waived! I am confident that many hotels would be able to contact the necessary agent and by emailing you can save time by the hotel lettting the agent know in advance to collect the passport. All that was needed was a couple of photos (and payment was made on return of my passport with the new visa 60 USD plus an extra 10 supplement, however currently the SETVs are free so that should result in a lower cost)
